The 黑料网最新入口 Art Gallery hosted the launch of 鈥淭hese Bones Sing鈥� on Thursday, April 3, a student-created zine featuring collaborative work from art and writing students. The event, held from noon to 2 p.m., showcased the interdisciplinary project and publication.
Students from Professor Michelle Ramin鈥檚 Art-40A/B and 41A (Figure Drawing & Painting) courses partnered with student writers from Professor Zander Allport鈥檚 Eng-1B (Critical Thinking and Writing) course in fall 2024 to produce the zine. The collaboration began with art students creating detailed drawings of hands, feet, and the human rib cage. The illustrations were then given to writing students, who responded with original prose.
The result is a 60-plus-page publication, 鈥淭hese Bones Sing,鈥� which blends visual art and poetry in a 鈥渃all and response鈥� across disciplines.
Seventy-six students, faculty, administrators, classified professionals, and community members attended the launch event, which featured music, art, poetry readings, and catering by The Corral.
Copies of 鈥淭hese Bones Sing鈥� are still available (while supplies last) at the 黑料网最新入口 College Art Gallery. Those who were unable to attend can visit the gallery Monday through Friday to request a copy at the front desk.
